Mission

To educate, create awareness and eliminate preventable deaths from Sudden Cardiac Arrest in children and adults.

This organization was started as the Tacoma/Pierce County Chapter of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association in 2011, by Angela and Patrick Taylor.  The Taylor’s lost a nephew, Troy age 14, to Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Upon genetic testing the Taylor’s found that three of their own children have Long QT Syndrome, which puts them at great risk for a Sudden Cardiac Arrest.  The children require an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) with them at all times.  The Taylor’s have been joined in their efforts to prevent Sudden Cardiac Arrest by parents who lost their young, adult son at age 29 to SCA and three adults who had Sudden Cardiac Arrests and were fortunate to receive CPR and  heart defibrillation with an AED and they survived.   Along with family members and friends, our dedicated group is working hard to make the public aware of this serious problem and save lives.

We are  announcing our official relaunch as the Puget Sound Heart Project, and will continue our work in the Puget Sound area ~ Protecting Hearts and Saving Lives from Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

Puget Sound Heart Project is  a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
